Following its recent launch, the AIDurian project held a strategic planning session at the University of the Philippines Mindanao. The meeting, held just one day after the project's kickoff, aimed to discuss plans and strategies with key partners, including the Department of Science and Technology Region XI (DOST RXI) and the DOST Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCAARRD), the project's monitoring agency.
Led by project leader A/Prof. Armacheska R. Mesa-Satina, discussions focused on practical aspects such as objectives, timelines, and collaboration. With input from DOST RXI and PCAARRD, participants also addressed potential challenges and opportunities.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to using AI and technology to benefit durian growers and stakeholders — a significant step toward advancing innovation and sustainability in the durian industry.
